Aida Cardona (nee Cortes), age 87, passed away at her residence in Saint Petersburg, Florida on March 18, 2022.
Born October 28, 1934 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico to Jose and Carmen Cortes, Aida moved to the Lorain area in 1955. There she worked as a seamstress for Joseph & Feiss for several years until her retirement in 1983. She was also a member of 1st Spanish Baptist Church in Lorain.
She enjoyed crotchet, gardening as well as listening to Christian music.
Surviving are her children, Elizabeth Aruca, Eliseo Cardona Sr., Noemi Vasiloff; grandchildren, Jacquelyn Cardona, Eliseo Cardona Jr., Joey Vasiloff, Michael Cardona, Duncan Perry and John Cardona; great grandchildren, Skyy Confer, Alexis Aruca, Candida Cardona, Kaitlyn Cardona, Elise Cardona, Eliseo (Blake) Cardona, O’Ryan Cardona, Roman Aruca, Hunter Confer and Isaiah Ferrell as well as 2 great grandsons due May of 2022 as well as her brother, Miguel Cortes and a sister, Miriam Rosa.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Candido Cardona; both of her parents; brother, Ramon Cortes and a sister, Carmen Roldan.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 1 from 4 – 8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral & Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue and on Saturday, April 2 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
