Alan R. Kokoski of Elyria, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2023, at Autumn Aegis in Lorain, Ohio.

Born on December 17, 1961, Alan lived a vibrant life filled with dedication to his craft and a passion for the people around him.

Alan dedicated his career to the construction industry, leaving an indelible mark as a builder and roofer. He was an integral part of Kokoski Brothers Builders and Kokoski's Handyman Service, where he poured his heart into every project he undertook. Alan's commitment to his work went beyond mere professionalism; he treated each client as if they were family, ensuring that their dreams were brought to life.

Alan's journey began with a strong educational foundation. He graduated from Elyria High School in 1979, equipping him with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in his chosen field. Throughout his career, Alan displayed exceptional craftsmanship and an unwavering attention to detail, making him highly regarded by colleagues and clients alike.

Beyond his career accomplishments, Alan cherished several proud achievements throughout his life. He was an esteemed member of the Polish Club, VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars), and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. 

In his leisure time, Alan indulged in various hobbies and interests that embodied his love for life. A devoted Cleveland sports fan, he cheered passionately for his favorite teams through highs and lows. Additionally, he found solace in boating adventures where he could appreciate the serenity of nature's beauty. He also enjoyed cooking and giving everyone nicknames.

Alan will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his sons, Jordan and Joseph; daughter, Tara, along with his brothers, Carl and Steven; sisters, Sheryl and Karen. Alan was also blessed with the love of his grandchildren, Gavin and Ava. He leaves behind a large extended family, including nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Doris (nee Lauer) Kokoski as well as his brothers, Byron and Larry.

A visitation ceremony to celebrate Alan's life will be held on January 14, 2024, starting at 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Dovin Funeral And Cremation Specialists located at 2701 Elyria Ave in Lorain, Ohio. This will be an opportunity for friends and loved ones to pay their respects and share their fond memories of Alan.
