Alexis 'Lexy" Mahoney-Krivell, 58, of Oberlin, died Friday, May 12, 2006 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
She was born June 25, 1947 in Lorain, where she had been a life long resident.
She was a 1965 graduate of Admiral King High School, and attended John Carroll University and Western Reserve University. In 1968 she completed studies at the Cleveland MetroHealth School of Nursing, and in 1990, she received a Bachelor of Science and Nursing degree from the Medical College of Ohio.
Lexy had worked as clinical director for Primary Surgical Center, Elyria, and clinical director for Erie Shores Endoscope, in Lorain. She had also worked at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center as the manager of the emergency room department, night shift nursing supervisor, staff nurse for critical care and director of home health care. At Elyria Memorial Hospital, she had work as a staff nurse in the emergency room. She also worked at Robinson Memorial Hospital, Ravenna, and Cleveland Metro Health Medical, staff nurse.
She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, Lorain, and professional nursing organizations. She enjoyed folk art painting, especially Russian folk art. She was a Nikken wellness consultant since 1998.
Surviving are her sons, Christopher Mahoney of Cincinnati, and Michael Mahoney of Elyria; her mother, Alice Krivell of Elyria, 2 grandchildren, and a brother, Harold Krivell Jr. of Washington, DC.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Krivell Sr. in 1992.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. On Monday, the family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, 2238 E. 32nd Street, Lorain. Archpriest Basil Stoyka, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
