Alice H. Allen

Alice H. Allen (nee Heys), age 92, of Lorain, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Riverview Point, while under the care of Heartland Hospice.
She was born on Sept. 15, 1918, and has been a resident of Lorain her entire life. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Many years ago, Alice was a cook at St. Anthony's and also worked as a clerk at local grocery stores.
She enjoyed crocheting and music, but most importantly, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Donald (Glenda), of Olmstead Twp., grandchildren; Cynthia Droog and Joseph Allen, and her great grandchildren; A.J. and Alec Droog.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Norman, in 1978, parents; Richard and Ida (nee Driver) Heys, her brothers; Richard and Milton, and a sister, Doris Wressell Howard.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Aug. 2, from 4-7 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, on Wed. The Rev. Jack Ison, Pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
