Alice M. James (nee Cook), age 80, of Lorain, died on Thursday, September 15, 2005 in the Emergency Room at Community Health Partners - Hospital and Surgical Center, West, following a short illness.
Born on May 8, 1925 in Lodi, Ohio, moving to Lorain in 1942.
Alice was a 1942 graduate of Lodi High School.
She enjoyed volunteering at the Salvation Army, Senior Citizen's Catholic Charities, traveling the United States, gardening and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons: Greg James and Phillip James, both of Lorain, daughters: Pat Wilson, of Elyria and Nancy Kenzik, of Lorain, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, brothers: Clyde Cook, of Litchfield and Clarence Cook of Kipton, sisters: Helen Mumford, of Litchfield and Isabel Robertson, of Medina.
Preceded in death by her husband of 42 years: Earl James, parents: Ivory and Orma (nee Lamp) Cook, sister: Mary Ash and brother: Francis Cook.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 18, 2005 from 4-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Leonard Robertson, of Medina will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township, OH.
