Allen R. Tucker, age79, of Lorain, died on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at Oak Hills Nursing Home, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on May 7, 1927 in Milan, Ohio moving to Lorain in 1956. He served in the United States Marines during the Korean War as a corporal.
Allen was employed at the Norfolk Southern Railroad as a section foreman for over 38 years, retiring in 1983.
He was a member of the American Legion in Milan. Allen enjoyed fishing, traveling and gardening.
He was survived by nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Mary (nee Coleman) in 2003; parents: Lynn and Mabel (nee Ringle) Tucker, brothers: Morris Tucker, Raymond Tucker, Dennis Tucker and Tommy Tucker.
Visitation will be Monday from 7-9 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Charles Keesee, pastor of Midway Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
