Amber D. Vickers, age 11, of Birmingham, died Monday, March 21, 2005 with her sister Tiffany from injuries sustained in a house fire at her residence.
She was born March 19, 1994 in Lorain, having lived there until moving to Birmingham in 2004.
She was attending the 4th grade at Firelands Elementary School, where she loved to help her teachers and classmates. Amber had aspirations of becoming a veterinarian. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church, Elyria.
Amber enjoyed drawing, riding her bike, listening to music, playing school and rough housing her uncles.
She is survived by her mother, Wendy Brubaker and step-father, Laurence E. Brubaker, her 2 sisters, Jessica L. Vickers and Ashley M. Vickers all of Birmingham, her maternal grandfather, Nelson G. Dunfee of Huron.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Walter E. Carpenter in 1994, and Louise M. (nee Hoag) Dunfee in 1996.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Midway Baptist Church, 41812 Griswold Road, Elyria, where combined funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. Charles Keesee, pastor, will officiate. www.midwaybaptistchurch.net Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, is handled the arrangements.
