Amy Santiago, 38, of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland due to heart failure following a short bout with cervical cancer.
Born November 12, 1979 in South Bronx, NY, she moved to Lorain in 1985. She was a 1997 graduate of Southview High School in Lorain.
Amy was a member of Vine of Hope Church in Lorain and enjoyed reading books, watching The Walking Dead television series and spending time with her family. When she was younger, Amy loved to box. In 1996 she won Cleveland's Golden Glove Championship.
Surviving is her daughter, Natalia Casiano of Lorain; parents, Sergio and Ines (nee Caban) of Lorain; her fiancé, Otis Centers Jr. of Lorain; brothers, Sergio Santiago Jr. and Noel Santiago both of Lorain; and sisters, Dolores Melendez of Chicago and Ilene Delgado of Amherst.
She was preceded in death by her niece, Madelyn Santiago.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 pm in Vine of Hope Church, 1310 Colorado Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 am. Rev. Kervin Melendez, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
