Ana "Annie" Alvarez

Ana "Annie" Alvarez, (nee Carrion), age 53, of Lorain, died on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at the Cleveland Clinic.
Annie was born on May 13, 1955 in Lorain, where she has been a lifelong resident.
She was a 1973 graduate of Southview High School and had attended Lorain County Community College for a year.
Annie was the owner of the flower shop "I Do I Do and Something More" in Lorain. Prior to this she worked for the IRS in Cleveland for 10 years.
During her life she was active in the Hispanic Community in Lorain. She was formerly involved with Image, a Hispanic employment program, the board of directors at El Centro, Lorain Chapter of the Ostomy Association and the Colitis and Ileitis Foundation of Cleveland.
Annie enjoyed playing bingo, cooking, baking, especially wedding cakes, going shopping and being with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Roberto Alvarez, of Alvarez Auto Body, 2 daughters, Anita M. Ramsey (nee Yee) of Indiana, and Carol Milagros Yee, of Lorain, grandchildren, Martin Nieves, Ileana Yee, Jaselyn Nieves, Michael Ramsey, Jr. and Joshua Ramsey and brother, John Carrion, of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her father, Teodoro "Cabito" Carrion Flecha in 1989 and her mother, Providencia "Provi" Carrion Maldonado in 1995.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 13, 2008 from 7-9 pm and on Sunday, December 14, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain.
Friends may also be received on Monday from 8:30 a.m. until time of funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Fr. William Thaden, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
