Ana L. Gonzalez, (nee Rodriguez), 79, of Lorain, died Saturday, January 14, 2006 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center - West, Lorain, following a short illness.
She was born June 12, 1926 in Manati, Puerto Rico; she came from there to Lorain in 1949 and has lived here since.
She was a homemaker, and enjoyed cooking, sewing and music.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, and the Eldorado of the church.
Surviving are her sons, Miguel Gonzalez of Sheffield Lake, G. Luis Gonzalez, Ismael Gonzalez, Rafael Gonzalez and David Gonzalez all of Lorain, a daughter, Lidia Laboy of Lorain, 16 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren, sister, Flor Velasquez, Gaby Ortiz, and Carmen Rodriguez all of Puerto Rico.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Ventura Gonzalez in 1991, parents, Fabio Rodriguez and Thomasita (nee Maldonado) Rodriguez, a brother, Carlos Rodriguez, and a sister, Jeny Rodriguez.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where Funeral services will be Thursday at 8:45 a.m. followed by mass at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Ave., Lorain. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
