Andrew Dziubek

Andrew Dziubek, 83, of Lorain, died Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at his residence following a short illness.


He was born August 15, 1922 in Przewrotne, Rzesow, Poland; living in Amherst for 2 years before settling in Lorain in 1949.


He worked at Lorain Works US Steel in the B.O.P. Shop for over 30 years, retiring in 1981.


He was a member of the Church of St. Peter, Lorain, United Steel Workers Union Local 1104, and the United Polish Club, Lorain.


He enjoyed polka dancing and gardening.


He is survived by his son, Edmund of Amherst; daughters, Barbara Pentito of Vermilion, and Irene Chrulski of Elyria; 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Frances Marszall of Vermilion, and Mary Dziubek of Poland.


He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Sophia (nee Borodata) in 1985; a daughter, Christina Dziubek in 1954; a brother, Frank in 1982.


The family will receive friends on Friday from 5 - 8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where funeral services will be Saturday at 9:00 a.m. followed by mass at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Chuck Henkle, associate pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
