Andrew R. Fankell, age 58, of Sheffield Village, died on Monday, March 13, 2006 at his residence, following a brief illness.
Andrew was born on April 19, 1947 in Lorain. He had moved to Sheffield Village in 1978 from Lorain.
He served in the United States Airforce from 1965-1969, during the Vietnam Era.
He was employed at Republic Technologies, formerly US Kolbe for 40 years. He was a member of the United Steelworkers Local Union #1104.
Andrew was survived by his wife of 38 years: Mary (nee Kinsela) mother: Marie (nee Kalcikova) Fankell, of Lorain, daughters: Tamara and Steve Norris of Lorain, Tara and Rich Raynak of Sheffield Village, 3 grandchildren and sisters: Ruth Fazio, of Florida, Mollie Decarlo, of Amherst, Linda Fankell, of Lorain and Debi Ruiz, of Amherst, aunts, Maxine Frasier and Irene Haynes.
He was preceded in death by his father: Alfred Fankell.
A memorial service will be held at Christian Temple Disciples of Christ, 940 W. 5th Street, Lorain on Friday, March 17, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.
