Angel Luis Ortiz, age 63, of Lorain, died on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at University Hospital, Cleveland, following a brief illness.
He was born on December 22, 1941 in Jayuya, Puerto Rico, moving to Lorain in 1958.
Angel was employed as an inspector for the Lorain Ford Assembly Plant for 30 years, retiring in 1997.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel.
He enjoyed woodworking and painting.
Angel was survived by his wife of 39 years: Awilda "Maria" Ortiz, of Lorain, sons: Luis Angel Ortiz, Oscar Ortiz, Juan "Bully" Ortiz, all of Lorain and Samuel Ortiz, of Israel, Jerusalem, daughter: Elsie Velez, of Lorain, 13 grandchildren, 1 brother: Oscar Ortiz, of Neptune, NJ, and sisters: Margarita "Cuca" of Puerto Rico, Blanca, of Florida, Felicita "Tata" of Florida, Alicia, of Lorain and Tona, of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Juan Ortiz-Guzman and Felipa Torres.
The family will receive friends on Friday, Feb. 25, 2005 from 5-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain and also on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of mass at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel.
