Angel Luis Pagan, 60, of Grafton, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at his mother's residence while under the care of Hospice of the Western Reserve following a lengthy illness.
Born July 21, 1950 in Catano, Puerto Rico, he came to Lorain in 1954 where he lived before moving to Grafton in 2003. After graduating from Admiral King High School in 1969, he served four years in the US Navy followed by four years in the US Naval Reserves. He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Following the service, he received a bachelor's degree from the University of Akron.
Angel worked as a contract specialist in the procurement department of Nasa Glenn Research Center, Brookpark for 30 years, retiring in May of 2010.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain and the Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter 20. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
Surviving is his son, Pedro; mother, Luisa Pagan; sisters, Hilda Fazekas & Carmen Pomales; niece, Stacy Rizzi; nephew Jose Pomales; great niece Sara & great nephew, Mark.
He was preceded by his father, Cesareo; grandparents, Pedro and Maria Rivera.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. A memorial Mass will be Saturday at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. William Thaden, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. The Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter 20 will conduct military honors.
