Angel Velez-Rodriguez, 90, of Brooklyn, New York, and formerly of Lorain, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007 at the Brooklyn Queens Nursing Home.
He was born on Dec. 30, 1916 in Lares, Puerto Rico; he lived in Lorain for many years before moving to Brooklyn 20 years ago.
He was a manager of an apartment complex in Brooklyn before retiring.
Surviving is his wife, Maria Antonia Velez (nee Rivera) of Lorain; a son, Leonides Velez of Saxton, Florida; daughters, Blanca Gerena and Judith Rosado both of Lorain, Milta Velez of Lakeland, Florida, and Marta Velez of New York; many grandchildren; brother, William Rodriguez of Daytona, Florida; sisters, Genoveva Velez of Daytona, Florida, and Carmen of New York.
He was preceded in death by his son, Raul Velez in 1980.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 3:00 to 9:00 pm in Casa de Dios Y Puerta del Cielo, 218 E. 28th St., Lorain, where funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Tina Martinez, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridgehill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
