Anne M. Fundak Arnold, (nee Shagovac), age 91, of Lorain, died on Friday, May 14, 2010 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home, Lorain, following a brief illness.
She was born on May 4, 1919 in Pittsburgh, PA, living most of her life in Lorain until moving to Amherst 1 ½ years ago.
She was employed at Lorain Products, where she was a clerk and also worked in the plant until her retirement. As a young girl she was the elevator operator at St. Joseph Hospital.
Anne was a member of Catholic Church of St. Peter, and also the Croatian Fraternal Union. Her hobbies included: knitting, tole painting, ceramics, and casino trips were always one of her favorite outings.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Garcia, of Lorain, her brother, Richard Shagovac, of Amherst, many nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren, and also her granddog "Razzy".
She was preceded in death by her 1st husband of 32 years, Ivan Fundak, 2nd husband of 20 years, John Arnold, brothers; George, Peter, John and Joseph, sisters; Mary Pollos, Rose Pullins, Elizabeth Reardon, and Mary Catherine Shagovac, parents; Andrew and Elizabeth (nee Carr) Shagovac, and son in law, Henry Garcia.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 17, 2010 from 4-8 p.m., in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where prayers will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m., at the Catholic Church of St. Peter. The Rev. Fr. Craig Hovanec, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
