Anne (Dudiak) Dulick, 88, formerly of Lorain, died peacefully on Sunday evening, August 17, 2008 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina, following a brief illness.
She was born on December 2, 1919, the first child of Ilko and Mary Dudiak, Ukrainian immigrants who married and settled in Lorain. After graduating from Lorain High School in 1938, Anne attended Fenn College in Cleveland, where she earned a degree in accounting. Anne worked in the Government Accounting Office in Cleveland, Lorain Products Company, and later as a nurses'' aide at Ohio Extended Care.
Anne was an avid reader who loved to travel and visit museums. She frequently attended performances of the Cleveland Opera and Cleveland Ballet with her daughter Maryann. A lifelong Cleveland Indians fan, Anne attended the 1948 World Series games in Cleveland. She had a passion for knitting and croqueting, which continued until the end of her life. She was also a devoted caregiver to her mother, brother, and husband during their illnesses.
Anne was a former member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church and was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the church, the church choir and a Sunday school teacher.
When her health began to fail in 2002, Anne relocated to her daughter''s home in Raleigh. During her life in Raleigh, Anne was able to travel extensively with her family to such destinations as Tampa, St. Augustine, Orlando, Miami, New Orleans, Savannah, and Charleston. She also traveled throughout her new home state of North Carolina.
Anne is survived by her daughter Maryann Dulick and her husband Sean Dail of Raleigh; her son Dr. Michael Dulick of Tucson, Arizona; and her brother Steve Dudiak of Lorain. She was predeceased by her husband Mitchell Dulick in 1990, her brother Michael Dudiak in 1976, and her brother John Dudiak in 2005.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 9:00 until time of services at 11:00 a.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home in Lorain. The Very Rev. Fr. Basil Stoyka, pastor of Ss. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Anne''s memory to the American Cancer Society, Ohio Division, North Region, 10501 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44106.
