Anneliese Osidach, (nee Neumann), age 80, of Lorain, died on Monday, October 24, 2011 at her daughter's home in Litchfield, following a long battle with Parkinson's Disease and various other illnesses. She was an inspiration to others as she fought her diseases courageously with the help of her grandson, Christopher.
She was born September 5, 1931, in a region of Germany that is now Poland, moving to Lorain in 1962.
Anneliese was employed in the Electronic Assembly Department at Lorain Products for 20 years, retiring in 1996.
She was a member of St. John Ukrainian Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and knitting and created some amazingly beautiful sweaters and afghans. Anneliese was a great cook as well as an excellent baker, and everyone loved her wonderful personality and humorous wit.
She is survived by her son, Dan, of Florida; her daughter, Vera Z., of Maryland; her grandson, Christopher Wolfgang, of Lorain; a sister, Inge Norwill, of Berlin; and a brother, Gunter, of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her ex husband, Myron, in 1986; parents, Fritz and Hedwig (nee Trautmann) Neumann; and a sister, Marta, as well as three brothers, Werner, Gerhardt, and William.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., where a Parastas will be conducted at 6:00pm. Funeral services will be Saturday at 12:30pm in the funeral home, followed by Liturgy at 1:00 at St. John Ukrainian Byzantine Catholic Church, 3038 Charleston Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Steven Paliwoda, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
