Anthony "Tony" Garcia, age 77, of Elyria, died on Friday, December 30, 2005 at his residence.
He was born on June 12, 1928 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, he lived in the Bronx, New York, before moving to Lorain in 1966. For the last 20 years he has lived in Elyria.
He was employed as a custodian at Lorain School System for 21 years, retiring in 1988.
Tony enjoyed walking and known for his whistling. He also enjoyed playing the accordion.
He is survived by his 4 daughters: Leticia Garcia of Puerto Rico, Lourdes Garcia of Florida, Lydiana Garcia of Lorain and Lizzette Garcia Reyes of Lorain and 9 grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2006 in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Mr. Tony DeGracia, deacon of Sacred Heart Chapel, will officiate. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain is handling the arrangements.
