Antoinette P. "Toni" Norcross (nee Slavik), 71 a life long resident of Sheffield Township, died Monday, August 25, 2008 at the Cleveland Clinic following a short illness.
She was born November 7, 1936 in Lorain, graduating from Clearview High School in 1954.
Toni worked as the office manager for Stevens Painton Corp, Lorain, retiring in 1998. Prior to that, she worked for Lorain Glass, Ohio Fuel and Household Finance.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, and the Sheffield Township Blazettes. She was also a member of the Mothers Club and PTA while her children where attending Durling Elementary School and supported her daughters and grandchildren's activities in the Clearview Schools. She was a member of the Sheffield Township Zoning Board and Board of Appeals. She served as precinct chairman for the Township and worked the election polls. Toni enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, going to Kelley's Island to camp and visiting the ocean. She also enjoyed baking wedding, anniversary and birthday cakes. She had been very active with the Lorain International Festival and parade for many years.
Surviving are her daughters, Tammy (Robert) Haslage and Lori (Richard) Husar both of Sheffield Township; grandchildren, Hannah (Aaron) Cristarella, Sarah, Nik, and Josh Husar, and Asa Haslage; great grandchildren, Ariannah, Noah, and Emmah; a brother, Paul (Karen) Slavik of Lorain; her aunt, Wanda Scheithauer of Sheffield Township; many nieces and nephews and cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul J. Slavik in 1991 and Julia (nee Koreski) Slavik in 1975.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00 - 9:00 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be Thursday at 10:45 am followed by mass at 11:00 am at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, E. 28th and Elyria Ave, Lorain. Rev. Fr. David Novak, administrator, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
