Antonia Figueroa (nee Almodovar), 69, of Lorain, died on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at her home, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on January 7, 1941 in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico. She moved to Lorain in October 1989, from Bronx, New York. She was a graduate of Beauty School.
Antonia was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel. She enjoyed listening to Spanish music and watching Spanish movies.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Bernardo, of Lorain, daughters; Nancy Gibbings, of Lorain, Wilma Gracia, of Louisville, KY, sons; Bernie of Tampa, FL and Louis of Lorain, 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luis and Rosita (Moreno) Almodovar.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 11, 2010 from 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain and also on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 8:45 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a mass at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Fr. William Thaden, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
