Antonia Pabon (nee Tapia), age 83, of Sheffield Lake, died Saturday, March 26, 2005 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center - West, Lorain, following a short illness.
Born August 24, 1921 in Ciales, Puerto Rico, she lived in Haverstraw, New York, then Buffalo, New York, before coming to Lorain in 1957. She then moved to Deltona, Florida, where she lived for 16 years before returning to Sheffield Lake a year and a half ago.
Antonia was a homemaker, enjoying sewing, working in the yard and gardening. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially for church fundraisers. She was active in and devoted to church, and was considered a good listener and easy to talk to. Being in the company of her grandchildren and great grandchildren filled her with joy.
Surviving is her sons, Louis of Aurora, Pete of Sheffield Lake, 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, a brother and two sisters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro in 1991, her sons, Richard Pabon in 1972, Reynold Pabon in 1983 and Robert Pabon in 2002, a grandson, Peter Anthony Pabon in 1975 and several brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Robert Kistemaker, associate pastor of House of Praise International Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
