Arzella Ruth Thomas

Arzella Ruth Thomas (nee Kishbaugh), age 82, of Lorain, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022, following a lengthy illness.

Born December 6, 1939, in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania, she graduated in 1956 from Northwest Area High School in Huntington Mill, PA, and moved to Sheffield Lake in 1961. She moved to Lorain in the late 1960’s.

Ruth worked in the Deli of the former Finast supermarket for 24 years, retiring in 1991.  She had also worked as a barmaid at Slovak Club and the former Polish Legion of American Veterans and Liedertafel Club.

She enjoyed crafts, ceramics and watching the Cleveland Browns and golf.

Surviving are her sons, Michael E. (Theresa) Sealy and Brian C. (Meredith) Sealy; daughter, Lorrie A. (Randy) Tanner; grandchildren Michael, Charlotte, Savanna, Lilly and Abbe; and a sister, Bernice Ganski.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold “Buddy - B.T.” in 1988; step-son, Raymond Thomas; parents, Cletus Paul and Leona Mae (Stout) Kishbaugh; brothers, Alvin, James, Donald, Carl, William, Robert, Daniel and Elwood; and sisters, Audrey Norce, Dorothy Hagenbaugh, Pauline Smith, Helen Marcott and Jean Smith.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 23 at 11 a.m. at Ridge Hill Memorial Park.  Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists is handling the arrangements.
