Austin R. Wooten, age 55, of Lorain, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Community Health Partners, Lorain.
Born January 16, 1955 in Lorain, he lived here his entire life.
He was a 1973 graduate of Clearview High School, and worked as an assembler at the Lorain Ford Assembly Plant.
He was a member of the former Amherst Freewill Baptist Church, and the United Auto Workers Union Local #425.
Austin enjoyed country music, walking and was well known in the community. He also adored his grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife of 23 years, Mary (nee Romero); daughters, Abby Romero and Monica Wooten both of Lorain; step daughters, Angie Morris and Melissa Romero both of Lorain; two granddaughters; brothers Hartley Jr. of Elyria and David of Louisville, KY; sisters Helen Southwick of Jonesboro, IN and Delores Wooten of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hartley and Faye (nee Staton) Wooten; and a brother Virgil.
The family will receive friends on Monday, from 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain.
