Barbara A. “Barb” Galvan, age 63, of Lorain, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, while under the care of Sprenger Health Care Anchor Lodge in Lorain.
She was born Wednesday, March 9, 1960, in Lorain, where she lived her entire life.
She was a mother, grandmother, fiancé, and stepmother. But most importantly, she was the most amazing woman anyone could ever meet. She was even a mom to every kid that came around.
Everyone loved her and will always love her.
She is survived by her fiancé of 20 years, Victor Smith; daughters, Twila Hammond, Brittney (Carlos) Nunez Cruz, and Bridget Bragg; son, Randy (Julie) Hammond; stepsons, Victor (Jessica) Smith Jr. and Adam (Shamika) Smith; 10 grandsons, five granddaughters, two great-grandsons, and two great-granddaughters. She leaves behind her brothers, Bob (Cathy) Galvan and Harry Galvan; a sister, Angela Frye; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and all the other kids that called her mom.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Anna (nee Stafford) Galvan; brother, Johnny “John” Galvan; sisters, Katherine Cavallo, Bernice Galvan, and Faith Kuhn; grandsons, Andrew Michael Hammond and Ixaya Noah Ethan Correci.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst, Twp.
