Barbara J. Martincin, (nee Klemmer) age 75, of Lorain, died Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on June 28, 1936 in Manhattan, NY, moving to Lorain in the mid 1950's.
Barbara was employed for 13 years at the Lorain County Clerk of Courts as a bookkeeper in the domestic relations division, then as a deputy clerk in the title division. Prior to this, she worked as a clerk at Shoreway Lanes. Following her retirement, she worked the Lorain County Animal Protective League.
She was a member of the Ohio Paint Horse Association and enjoyed showing horses, playing bingo, bowling and animals.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 55 years, Eugene; a son, Michael (Penny) of Lorain; daughters, Kathy (Dennis Lanter) Payn, and Maureen Martincin, both of Elyria; a brother, Raymond (Arlene) of New Port Ritchey, FL; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Gabby.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Elsie (nee Daggette) Klemmer.
The family invites friends to join them in a memorial gathering on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 6:00 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Fr. Richard Hudak, pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church will officiate.
