Barbara G. Mettler

Barbara G. Mettler (nee Kocak), 78, passed away September 19, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on December 30, 1936 in Lorain, Ohio. She moved to Elyria in 1999.
Barbara was a payroll specialist for Lorain County Commissioner's Office for 15 years before her retirement in May 2002. Prior to that, she worked for Lorain National Bank for 15 years.
She enjoyed learning new things on the computer, watching her beloved Browns play football on Sundays, and spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren who affectionately called her Bugga.
Barbara is survived by her daughters: Michaelene "Mikki" Beck (Ken) of Waco, TX, and Darlene "Dee" Julius (Mark) of Avon; son: Michael D. "Mike" Mettler (Tracie) of Elyria; grandchildren: Alysa, John, Adam, and Megan.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Mary H. and Michael J. Kocak; her brother: John A. Kocak; and her sisters: Maryann Vinovich, Helen Olejko, Kathleen Kocak, and Germaine Zaborniak.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday September 22, 2015 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday September 23 at 10:00am at St. Mary's Church, 320 Middle Avenue in Elyria. Rev. Charles T. Diedrick will officiate. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
