Bartella "Bart" Potts, (nee Park), 80 of Lorain, died Monday, July 10, 2006 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center West, Lorain, follow a short illness.
She was born November 7, 1925 in Logan, Ohio; living in Lancaster, OH, and Dayton before settling in Lorain in 1947.
Bartella graduated from Logan High School and attended college.
For fifteen years she managed the equipment store for the Girl Scouts, in Lorain, retiring in 1991.
She was a member of Ss Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, past president of AARP #399, a member of the Lorain County Office on Aging, board member of the Lorain Senior Center, member and acting president of The Garden Club, Friends of the Library and former member of PTA and PTO.
She volunteered with the Girl Scouts for over 20 years, and enjoyed antique collecting and selling, reading, traveling abroad including Russia, Europe and Scandinavia and taking cruises.
Surviving is her husband of 51 years: John J. Potts, daughters: Karen Crozier, of Columbus, Adrienne Gray, of Willoughby Hills, 2 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, mother: Florence Smith of Logan, sister: Celia Cambria, of Charlotte, NC.
She was preceded in death by her son: John David Potts in 1975, father: Orin Paul Park.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Graveside services will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
