Bernard Ruminski, age 80, of Lorain, died on Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria, after a brief illness.
He was born on February 8, 1928, in Lorain, and was a resident of Lorain County for his entire life. He attended Nativity Catholic School, and was a member of Nativity BVM Catholic Church, Lorain.
Bernard was involved with the Murray Ridge Workshop. He enjoyed Polka music, watching the Wheel of Fortune, and working on puzzles. He loved going for rides, especially to go and get ice cream.
He is survived by his sister, Veronica D. Ruminski, of Elyria, his nieces; Carol (Dan) Pruitt, of Lakewood, Patricia (Greg) Markus, of Lorain, Celeste (Dan) Daron, of Colorado, Marilyn (Keith) Muskiewicz, of Elyria, and Agnes (Scott) Lane, of Gates Mills, OH, his nephews; James (Mary Lou) Ruminski, Michael (Sandy) Ruminski, of North Ridgeville, Leonard Ruminski, of Grafton, and Paul Ruminski, of Lorain, his 7 great nephews, 8 great nieces, 4 great great nephews, and 6 great great nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Martin J. and Agnes (nee Pawlowski) Ruminski, a brother, Leonard "Skeeter" Ruminski, and a niece, Nancy Mickelson.
Friends will be received on Saturday, June 7, from 9:30 am until the time of Mass at 10:00 am, at Nativity BVM Catholic Church, 418 W. 15th Street, Lorain, 44052. The Rev. Fr. Robert Glepko, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44055, is handling arrangements.
