Betty Lee "Bub" Moore (nee Martin-Lucas), age 71, of Lorain, died on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Aristocrat in Berea, following a short illness.
She was born on April 4, 1939 in Gypsy, West Virginia, moving to Lorain in 1969.
Betty enjoyed reading her Bible, quilting, puzzles and researching her family tree. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Virginia (James) Kowalik, of Ashland, Teresa (William) Moore-Marrero and Nancy Moore, both of Lorain, 7 grandchildren, Michael Frost, Jennifer Moore, Nicholas Moore-Marrero, Deanna Frost, John Moore-Marrero, Jamie Barden and Franklin L. Moore II, and 6 great grandchildren, Tessa Frost, Aidan Moore, Elizabeth Frost, Isabelle Moore, Cheyanne Barden and Alivia Greenlee, brothers, Richard Lucas, of WV, Argyle Lucas, of Ohio, Howard Wilson and Donald Wilson, both of WV, sisters, Shirley Johnson, of Ohio, Shelia Shears, Sandra Lucas, Linda Stalnaker, all of WV, Louise Smith of PA, Lorraine Bassnet, of WV, and Phyllis Ellison, of KY.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Franklin "John" Moore, in Jan. 2010, grandson, Franklin R. Frost, parents, Otto & Maude Mae (nee Martin-Lucas), brothers, Franklin Lucas and Donald Lucas, sisters, Alice Wilson and Thelma Starr.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 2, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Tues. at 12:00 noon. Rev. Rick Young, will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
