Bob M. "Rocket" Berstling, age 53, of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly at his home, on Thursday, April 25, 2013.
He was born on May 28, 1959 in Lorain, where he lived his entire life. He was a 1977 graduate of Admiral King High School. After graduation, Bob went to work for Lucas Plumbing, which helped begin his career as a union plumber and pipe fitter. Currently, he was working most of his jobs through the Pipe Fitters Union Local #42, in Norwalk.
Anyone who knew Bob, also knew that his true passion was fishing, but also enjoyed camping and being outdoors. He was a great handyman, always being meticulous with everything he did.
Bob is survived by his brother, Andrew S. (Kellie), of Grafton, his sister, Marge A. Berstling, of Toledo, nieces; Jennifer Henthorn and Jodie Krueger, and a nephew, Aiden. He will be deeply missed by his close friends as well.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert, in 2002, mother Alice M. (nee Horak), in 2011, and his sister, Marie Krueger, in 2008.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 29, from 4-8 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where services will be held on Tuesday, at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
