Brenda K. Grimes

Brenda K. "Brinny" Grimes, 60, of Sheffield Twp, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2014 at University Hospital of Cleveland following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born May 26, 1954 in Lorain, she was a life long resident of the township. Brenda was a 1972 graduate of Clearview High School.
She worked as a home health aide for Flat Rock Homes. Prior to this, she worked as a home health aide for Home Watch.
Brenda enjoyed reading, going to concerts, gardening and planting flowers.
Surviving is her father, Floyd Grimes of Lorain; brothers, Floyd (Lynn) Grimes of Bakersfield, CA, and Douglas Grimes of Lorain; sisters, Carolyn (Jerome) Anderson of Oberlin, Jeanette (Joseph) Fekete and Karen Al-Khayri both of Sheffield Twp; and 10 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Newman; and a brother, Lyndon Grimes.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
