Carl Edward Hall II, 65 of Lorain, passed away Monday, January 30, 2012 at New Life Hospice Residential Center following a lengthy illness.
Born Nov. 3, 1946 in Portsmouth, Ohio, he came to Lorain in 1959.
He served in the US Army from 1966 to 1971 and received the National Defense Service Medal.
Carl worked as a door assembler for Dell Lumber Company in Elyria for 30 years, retiring in 2007. Prior to that, he worked at the Lorain Ford Assembly Plant in the 1970's.
He enjoyed reading, cooking, and watching Cleveland sports.
Surviving is his son, James (Katrina) Hall of Lorain; a daughter, Tina (Rich) DeWitt of Amherst; grandchildren, Amber Canter, Jonathan Canter and James Hall Jr.; a brother, Dave (Nancy) of Lorain; and sisters, Nina Adams and Sandy French both of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Joyce (nee Adkins) in 1999; parents, Carl E. and Pauline (nee Gillum); a son Carl E. Hall III in 1972; and sisters, Dorothy Wright and Helen Wright.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 am. Rev. Arlon Lowe, assistant pastor of Victory Baptist Temple, Elyria, will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Avon.
