Carl W. Rorrer, age 79, of Lorain, died on Friday, April 23, 2010 at Lake Pointe Health Center, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on March 19, 1931 in Beckley, West Virginia, moving to this area 32 years ago from Glen Daniel, West Virginia.
Carl served in the United States Army. He was employed as a machinist for Kerr Lakeside, in Macedonia for 17 years.
He is survived by his step-daughter, LaSheliea (William) Boone, of Lorain; grandchildren, William H. Boone, Danielle P. (Alberto) Rivera, Kenneth P (Sarah) Boone and Michael R. Boone; great grandchildren, Kimberly Dindino, Alisha Boone, William H. Boone Jr., Katherine Boone, Marecciea Rivera, Madelyn Rivera, Malina Rivera, Leta Boone and Derrick Boone; and agreat great grandson, Joshua Dindino; brother, John Rorrer of Charlottesville, VA; and a sister, Arizona Murdock, of Glen Daniel, West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Laurie E. (nee Hill) Rorrer; parents, John F. and Hattie (nee Laverty) Rorrer; brothers, Gene, Virgil, Vestor; and sisters, Essiebell Lilly and Virginia Louise Rorrer.
The family held private services. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, handled the arrangements.
