Carl D. "Bud" Wilson, age 80, of Elyria Township, died on Monday, April 24, 2007 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center, West, Lorain.
He was born on August 12, 1926 in Adrian, West Virginia, moving to Ohio in the late 1940's. He resided in Lorain County since the 1960's.
He was a union meat cutter for the area for 45 years. Most recently, he was employed at Apple's Grocery Store, before retiring in 1988, as a meat cutter. After retirement, he worked part time at Western Enterprises in West Lake for 15 years. He was also employed at other grocery stores including Reighley's and Sparkle Market. Carl worked as a car repairman for the railroad in the 40's and 50's.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching sports on t.v. He was also a member of the meat cutter's union, Local #427.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years: Diane (nee Speroff) Wilson, sons: Kenley Wilson and Bruce Wilson, both of Downey, CA, daughter: Christina Painley, of Elyria, 2 grandchildren and 2 brothers: Charles B. Wilson, of Lorain and Harold "Tink" Wilson, of Sutton, West Virginia and sister: Marcia Becker of Elyria.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Virgil and Alma G. (nee Edwards) Wilson, sister: Mary Solida in 1961 and son: Pete Nechovski in 1989.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 26, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. The Rev. Dale Warrick, Pastor of Cornerstone United Methodist Church, Elyria, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
