Carmen L. Cordova (nee Burgos), age 80, of Lorain, died on Friday, May 18, 2007 in the Emergency Room at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center - West, following a short illness.
She was born on August 15, 1926 in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico; moving to Lorain in 1954.
Carmen enjoyed flowers, scratch off Bingo Tickets, Spanish soap operas, playing bingo, music, dancing and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Felipe; a son, Domingo Gutierrez, Jr. of Lorain; daughters, Carmen Alicea of Lorain, Migdalia Cortes of Orlando, Florida, and Aida Cruz of Lorain; 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Flor Burgos and Fransisca (nee Rodriguez) Burgos; a daughter, Louisa Gutierrez; brothers, Gil Burgos and Raphael Burgos.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain and also on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m.until time of services at 12:00 noon at House of Praise International Church, 4231 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
