Carol Cumberledge (nee Stoneking) age 65, of Lorain, died on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at her residence, while under the care of Hospice of Western Reserve, following a long illness.
She was born on September 4, 1941 in Garards Fort, Pennsylvania. She had graduated from Mapletown High School and from Duffs Business College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Carol was employed as a switchboard operator/office clerk for Blue Cross/Blue Shield Insurance Company in Pittsburgh, PA. After moving to Lorain she was employed at Jeancola's store and was the owner/operator of River's Bend Campground in Coolville, Ohio, where she spent the summer seasons.
Carol enjoyed being involved with her sons sports activities for many years, always supporting them. Some of her favorite hobbies included playing cards, bingo, coaching softball, reading, traveling to Las Vegas, and caring for and playing with her beloved grandchildren. She also hosted several large family reunions.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years: Mike, sons: Mike Jr. of Coolville, Ohio, Mark, of Lorain and Jason, of of Wakeman, Ohio, 5 grandchildren, brothers: Tommy Milton of Renton, WA, David of Bedford, OH, Daniel of Waynesburg, PA, sisters: Jeane Emge of Saltsburg, PA, Anna Mae Gustely of Dilliner, PA and Linda Danko of Mt. Morris, PA and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Lester and Idesta (nee Ross) Stoneking, infant sister: Betty Ellen Stoneking and brothers: Bill, Robert Santford, Allen, Donny and Terry Stoneking.
In accordance with Carol's wishes, no funeral service will be held. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, is handling the arrangements.
