Carol A. Oyola (nee Spencer), age 67, of Lorain, died on Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at Elyria Memorial Hospital, after a lengthy illness.
She was born on October 7, 1943, in Oberlin, but lived most of her life in Lorain. She was a 1962 graduate of Keystone High School.
Carol loved being with her family. She also enjoyed reading, working on plastic canvas, cooking, and watching her Spanish soap operas.
She is survived by her sons, Charles and Pau; daughters, Nuria Solis-Oyola, Carmen Soto, and Julia Delgado; 6 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; and her sisters, Sandra Sanchez, Linda Spencer, and Mary Comstock.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Asuncion, in 1995; a daughter, Elisa A. Oyola, in 2000; parents, Charles and Mabel (nee Rathwell) Spencer; and nieces, Maria Sanchez, in 2008, and Linda Sanchez, in 1978.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Jan. 18, from 7-9 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where her funeral service will be on Wed., at 11:00 am. The Rev. William Rios, Pastor of Iglesia de Dios Pentecostal Ebenzer, M.I., will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
