Carole J. Myers (nee Westbrook), age 77, of Lorain, died on May 30, 2008 at Community Health Partners HSC - West, Lorain.


She was born on December 3, 1930 in Utica, Ohio. She had also resided in Pennsylvania for awhile, moving to Lorain in 1948. She was a 1948 graduate of Bentleyville High School.


Carole had worked at Hills Dept. Store, retiring from there in 1983. She was also employed at K Mart. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Aux. and a past member of the Lorain American Legion Aux. Carole was also a member of the Black River Historical Society, Western Reserve Historical Society, SOAR (Steelworkers Organization of Active Retirees), Lorain Community Seniors Group, the Lorain Garden Club, the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Amherst, and the Lorain Moose Club.


She enjoyed going to car shows and traveling.


Carole is survived by her sons; Larry S. (Leslie), of South Amherst and Kevin D., of Lorain, her 2 grandchildren; Stephanie and Suzanne, her 2 great grandchildren; Abby and Brady, and many nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Roland J., in 1999, her parents; Alfred E. and Cora A. (nee Matheny) Westbrook, a sister, Edna Mae Westbrook, and a brother, Robert W. Westbrook.


The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 3, from 5-9 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where services will be held the following morning at 10:00 am. The Rev. Dr. Bradley Donahue, Pastor of Christian Temple Disciples of Christ, Lorain, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
