Carter J. Chizmadia

Carter J. "Kip" Chizmadia, age 55, of Buffalo Gap, Texas, formerly of Lorain, died on Saturday, September 17, 2005 at his home in Texas unexpectedly.
He was born on February 23, 1950 in Lorain. He had lived in Wyoming, Oklahoma and Texas before moving back to Lorain in 1983. He then moved to Buffalo Gap, Texas in 1998.
He graduated from Admiral King High School in 1968. He had also attended Lorain Community College.
He and his son, Chance, were self-employed in the construction business in the Buffalo Gap area. Prior to this he was a professional bullrider in the RCA/PRCA rodeos in his youth, and later worked on ranches throughout Wyoming, Oklahoma and Texas.
While living in Buffalo Gap, Texas he attended Holy Family Catholic Church.
"Kip" was a honorary member of the Comanche Nation in Oklahoma.
He enjoyed horse training, leather work, painting and making Western and Native American pieces.
He is survived by his former wife: Leslie Stivason, of Buffalo Gap, Texas, son: Chance T. Chizmadia, of Buffalo Gap, Texas, step-son: Jesse G. Wales, of Dayton, Ohio, brothers: Curt Chizmadia, of Sheffield Village, Drew Chizmadia, of Elyria, sisters: Toni "Ciss" Chizmadia, of Lorain, Terri Petz, of Wakeman, Paula Molina of Bay Village, Ohio, and Carla Butterfield, of Hamilton, Ohio, uncle: John Gwillim, of Lorain and aunt: Mary Mason of Lorain, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Anthony and Gerry (Gwillim) Chizmadia.
A memorial mass is scheduled for Saturday, October 15, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Roman Catholic Church, 2143 Homewood Drive, Lorain. Services were also held in Buffalo Gap, Texas.
The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, handled the local arrangements
