Catherine Katie Portka, age 92, of Lorain, died unexpectedly on Saturday, November 13, 2004 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center West, Lorain.
She was born on July 17,1912 in Hutkow, Poland and has lived in Lorain since 1950.
Katie was employed in the housekeeping department at St. Joseph Hospital for many years.
She was a member of Nativity BVM Catholic Church.
Catherines faith was her life. She enjoyed crocheting, grooming the flowers around her home, walking, and she loved the church.
She is survived by nieces and nephews of Poland.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Paul Portka and Anistasia (nee Zobe) Portka, sister: Lottie Krokos in 1992, 3 sisters and 1 brother of Poland.
She will receive friends on Wednesday, November 17, 2004 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a 10:00 a.m. mass at Nativity BVM Catholic Church.
