Cecilia “Ceil” Stanislaw (nee Krokos), age 95, passed away unexpectedly on December 18, 2020 at The Avenue of Aurora, in Aurora, Ohio.
Born October 6, 1925 to John and Hattie (nee Grabowski) Krokos in Lorain, Ohio, Cecilia spent all of her life in Lorain. She attended St. Stanislaus School and Lorain High School and was a supervisor at Lorain Products for over 24 years before her retirement in 1985. A member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lorain before its closing, Cecilia served as Eucharistic Minister and was active in many social organizations, including the Altar and Rosary Society, the Ladies Guild where she served as president as well as the cosmopolitan dance club that she joined with her husband. Following the closing of St. Stanislaus, Cecilia attended St. Anthony of Padua.
She enjoyed baking, sewing as well as traveling with her husband and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children, Patricia (David) Gram; Stephen (Maria) Stanislaw and Christine (James W.) Rose IV; grandchildren, Jennifer (Eric) Motz, Carrie (Andrew) Burson, Laura (Jason Downs) Gram, Becky (Ryan) Taylor, James W. (Samantha) Rose V, and Michael (Meg) Gram; great grandchildren, Avy Motz, Weston Motz, Dylan Taylor, McKenna Taylor, Luke Burson, Mark Burson and Kyle Gram as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Steve Stanislaw; both parents; brothers, Stanley, Steve, Stephen and Anthony as well as her sisters, Frances and Victoria.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 29 from 3 -7 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral & Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, December 30 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
