Charles Forbes Moore, 71, of Lorain went to be with the Lord on April 19, 2011, following a long illness.
He was born to Emery and Sara Moore on December 28, 1939 in Purtain Mines, West Virginia. He has been a resident of Lorain County for 46 years. He served in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1962. Charlie was employed for 18 years at Bendix Westinghouse, of Elyria and 18 years at TRW of Lorain as a machine operator. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Lorain, Ohio. Charlie enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, playing cards and Cleveland sports teams. He will be remembered for his generous heart and strong sense of family and friendship.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 47 years, Juanita (nee Chafin), daughter, Charlene (Bruce) Jensen, of Avon, son, Greg Moore, of Lorain, grandchildren; Chris and Cassie Jensen, brothers; Haven (Claudette) Moore, of Goldsboro, North Carolina and Reece (Debbie) Moore, of Delbarton, West Virginia, sister, Joyce Faye Meadows, of Lorain, mother-in-law, Pearl (George) Lyons, of Marion, Ohio, brothers-in-law; Mick (Debbie) Mahon and Keith (Dee) Hughes, sisters-in-laws; Billie Moore, Judy (Denny) Rumberger, Nyoka (Bob) Sly, and Donna Kay Rose, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Preceding Charlie in rest are his parents; Emery and Sara Moore, father-in-law, Don Chafin, mother-in-law, Eva Hughes, brothers; Gus and Russell Lee Moore, and sister, Ruby Moore Palagyi.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 23, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted by the Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter 20.
