Charles A. Simo

Charles A. “Chuck” Simo, age 63, of Sheffield Lake, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021 at his residence while under the care of Hospice of the Western Reserve following a lengthy illness.

Born on Sunday, March 24, 1957 in Lorain to the late Charles E. and Betty J. (nee Martincin) Simo, Chuck grew up in Sheffield Village.  He then lived in Lorain for several years before moving to Sheffield Lake in 1990.
For 31 years, Chuck worked as a mobile equipment mechanic/millwright at Ferrous Metal Processing in Brooklyn, Ohio. 

Chuck was a simple, down to earth man who loved his family and felt very strongly about family values.  For Chuck, his family always came first.  He cherished family camping trips to Allegheny National Forest in Pennsylvania and 4-wheeling with his son on “man trips” to Pennsylvania.  He also loved taking impromptu road trips with his wife, Debora.  Chuck had a passion for tinkering and fixing things. Going on sailing trips with his brothers was another adventure that Chuck loved to do.

Surviving is his wife of 44 years, Debora (nee Pringle); children, Jennifer (David) Simo-Guma of Lorain, Tina (Jonathan) Lanzer and Charles R. Simo (Alexis Polly) both of Sheffield Lake; 6 grandchildren; brothers, David (Marci) of Sheffield Lake, Donald (Karen) of Vermilion and Michael (Lisa) of Sheffield Village.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. unit the time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain.  Rev. John Retar, pastor of St. Frances Cabrini Parish in Lorain will officiate.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
