Charles "Charlie" Tully, Jr

Charles A. "Charlie" Tully Jr., 70, of Avon Lake, died Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Fairview Hospital, Cleveland.
Born Nov. 9, 1939 in Lorain, Charlie has been a resident of Avon Lake for the past 40 years.
He served in the US Navy from 1954 to 1958. For 34 years, Charlie worked as a boilermaker for the Boilermakers Union Local 744, retiring in 1996.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Avon Lake, the American Legion Post 211 of Avon Lake, and Amvets Post 55 of Sheffield Lake. Charlie adored animals; in particular he loved his dogs. He enjoyed playing cards and driving his convertible.
Surviving is his wife of 39 years, Jane (Anuskiewicz); sons Charles Tully of Avon Lake, and Edward (Noelle) Tully of Olmsted Falls; daughters, Victoria (Rob) Sweeney of Wheaton, IL, Theresa (Joe) Hus of Naperville, IL; and Ann (Dave) Phillips of Bay Village; 8 grandchildren; a brother, Michael (Cheryl) Tully of Sheffield Village; and a sister, Kathleen (Wayne) Duray of Amherst.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles A. Tully in 1986 and Anne (Sorok) Tully in 1997.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7-9 pm and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:30 am in the funeral home. Rev. Fr. Robert Glepko, pastor of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. The American Legion Post 211 will conduct military honors.
