Cheryl Sexstella-Wright

Cheryl A. Sexstella-Wright, age 64, of Lorain, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.

Born September 3, 1958 to Theodore and Joan (nee Frazer) Sexstella in Lorain, Ohio, she spent her entire life in Lorain.  She attended Admiral King and received her bachelor’s degree from Ashland University in education.  She started her teaching career in the Bellevue school district in technology education.  Later she received her master’s degree in administration from Ashland where she went to be a Principal at Prospect Elementary School in Mansfield.  She retired from her career after working in Columbus City Schools.

Cheryl devoted her life to helping the youth of Lorain.  She was an avid Cleveland sports fan and coached many different sports for her sons throughout the years.  She was a member of the Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church for many years.  Cheryl loved traveling and vacationing and above all, spending time with her family and being a grandmother.

Surviving is her husband of 34 years, Gregory Wright; sons, Brandon Sexstella and Lucas (Lindsey) Wright; grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Kyli, Ashton, Amara, Jonah, Willow and Reese.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents.
