Christine "Chris" Longworth (nee Liwczanyn), age 45, of Amherst, died on Sunday, September 3, 2006, at her residence, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on March 16, 1961 in Lorain, Ohio, where she resided until moving to Amherst in 1992. She was a 1979 graduate of Southview High School, Lorain.
Christine was employed as a supervisor at Lorain National Bank, the Oberlin Avenue branch, where she had worked for many years. She was previously employed at City Bank as well, working with the Banking industry for over 27 years.
She was a member of St. John Ukrainian Catholic Church.
Christine's skill at making pierogies was well known throughout Amherst and Lorain. She also enjoyed working with arts and crafts, especially crocheting and cross-stitching.
She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Charles, her 3 sisters; Margaret Ahafia Newman, of Section, Alabama, Maria Gilman, and Jo Ann Grizzell, both of Lorain, a niece and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Iwan and Dora (nee Funk) Liwczanyn.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 6, from 5-9 p.m. at the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where a Panachida will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by Divine Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Ukrainian Catholic Church, 3038 Charleston Avenue, Lorain. The Rev. Fr. Steven Paliwoda will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
