Christine "Chris" M. Weldon (nee Slavik), age 69, of Elyria, died on Monday, November 26, 2007, at her residence.
She was born on June 3, 1938 in Lorain. From Lorain, she had moved to Cleveland and from Cleveland, she finally made her home in Elyria. Chris was a 1956 graduate of Clearview High School.
She was employed as a Meat Wrapper for Giant Eagle, retiring after 30 years of service. Chris was a member of the UFCW Local 427 (United Food and Commercial Workers' Union).
She enjoyed playing BINGO, gardening, and cooking.
Chris is survived by her sister, Marlene J. Paige, of Elyria, and very close friends; Debbie Williams and Jeffrey Kirby, both of Elyria. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly M. Weldon, in 1994, her parents; Joseph and Wilma R. (nee Douros) Slavik, and a brother, Air Force Master Sgt. Michael Slavik in 1991.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 30, from 10:00 am until the time of services at 12:00 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Sister Rita Costello, Chaplain of Hospice, will officiate.
