Clara C. Kruppa, (nee Balog), 88, of Lorain, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, Feb. 1, 2008 at Adult Care by Sandy, Lorain.
A life long resident of Lorain, Clara was born August 25, 1919 in Lorain and graduated from Lorain High School in 1938. She was a member of the National Honor Society, St. John Holy and Trinity Lodge Branch 228 of the First Catholic Slovak Union, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed baking, playing cards and going to card parties.
For 30 years, she worked as a sales clerk in the boys dept. and carpet dept. at May Co. in Sheffield, retiring in 1983.
Clara is the loving mother of Cheryl Roth of Lorain, Patricia Zink of Greensburg, Pa., and the late Joan Dovin, who died in 2002, and the dear grandmother of 6 and great grandmother of 12.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Joseph F. "Tiny" in 1991; brothers, Paul, Stephen and Charles; sisters, Theresa Rajher, Mary Garcia and Christine Scherrer.
Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the DOVIN FUNERAL HOME, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by mass at 10:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. James R. Ols, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
