Clark L. Mickelson, age 87, of Lorain, died on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 in the Emergency Room at Community Health Partners Hospital, Lorain.
He was born on December 27, 1919 inThief River Falls, Minnesota, moving to Lorain 65 years ago.
He was a 1938 graduate of Lincoln High School, Thief River Falls, Minnesota.
He served in the United States Army as PFC from 1943-1946, participating in the Rhineland and Central European Campaigns. Then he enlisted in the US Navy Reserves serving until 1954.
He was employed as a job setter at Bendix Corporation for 30 years.
Clark was a member of the IAV Post I. He enjoyed being a avid sports fan, mostly with basketball.
He is survived by his sons: Allen R. Michelson, of Amherst, Dennis Mickelson, of Elyria and Robert Mickelson of Amherst, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, and brother: Ruben of Rochester, New York.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Martin and Ellen Mickelson, wife of 59 years: Ann A. (nee Puma) Mickelson in 2003, brothers: Grant, Arnold and E. Gilbert, and sister: Mildred.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 30, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 in the funeral home. Rev. Dr. Ralph Krupp, deacon at The Church of St. Peter will officiate. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
